Actor Ji Chang Wook is adding a new role to his career. He will be the host of the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) 2026 for the very first time.
The AAA 2026 organizing committee announced on May 29 that the famous South Korean actor will stand on stage as the official MC. He will be joined by IVE member Jang Won Young, who continues her record as the event’s main host for the sixth year in a row.
Ji Chang Wook Takes on First Awards Show Hosting Gig
Known for his action roles in shows like Healer and The K2, Ji Chang Wook is stepping into a new spotlight. Rather than receiving an award, he will be the person guiding the entire two-day ceremony.
The actor has had a busy year. He recently starred in the drama Welcome to Samdal-ri and showed a completely different side in a funny SK Telecom commercial that went viral, gaining over 4.3 million views on YouTube. The commercial featured the actor in a “B-grade” comedy concept, where he rolls into an airport on a suitcase with glowing green eyes. He even joked on social media about friends asking if he was having “financial difficulties” because of the weird ad.
Jang Won Young Returns for Sixth Year as AAA Queen
Jang Won Young will join Ji Chang Wook at the host table. The IVE member was first announced as the MC for AAA 2026 on May 19. She has been the face of the ceremony since 2021, earning the nickname “AAA Queen” from fans and media.
Organizers praised her “stable hosting skills and witty reactions” for keeping the long shows running smoothly. She is expected to bring the same level of professionalism to the stage this December.

The Asia Artist Awards is the only ceremony in Korea that gives out trophies to both actors (from TV and movies) and singers (K-pop) in one event.
Following the success of last year’s event, AAA 2026 will return to the Kaohsiung National Stadium in Taiwan. The venue worked well for the “10th Anniversary AAA 2025,” and organizers decided to host it there again for two nights.
“We look forward to a shining night of reunion in Kaohsiung. Please look forward to it.”
The event is set for December 5 and 6. This marks Ji Chang Wook his first time hosting such a large annual entertainment awards show.
Currently, the full list of performers and additional presenters has not been revealed. Last year’s lineup included major acts like Stray Kids, LE SSERAFIM, and actors like Park Bo Gum. Fans are waiting to see who will join Ji Chang Wook and Jang Won Young on stage later this year.
