The new Korean drama Siren’s Kiss has arrived on Prime Video, and it is already pulling viewers into a dangerous world where love and death go hand in hand. Starring Park Min-young (Marry My Husband) as the mysterious art auctioneer Han Seol-ah and Wi Ha-joon (Squid Game) as the determined insurance investigator Cha Woo-seok, this fatal romance thriller asks one chilling question: Is she a killer, or is she being framed?
With six episodes now available, the series has laid out a complex web of suspicious deaths, hidden motives, and growing attraction between the two leads. The show premiered on March 2, 2026, on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, with new episodes dropping weekly every Monday and Tuesday. Here is a detailed recap of what happened in the first six episodes of Siren’s Kiss.
The Setup: Why Woo-seok Hunts Insurance Criminals
The series opens with a brutal scene. A man slices off his own fingers to claim insurance money, setting the tone for the dark world of insurance fraud that Cha Woo-seok fights against every day. Woo-seok works for the Insurance Fraud Investigation Unit and holds the best arrest record for life-insurance fraud in the industry.
But his dedication comes from a personal place. Through flashbacks, viewers learn that Woo-seok’s sister died under suspicious circumstances, and her husband collected the insurance payout. The legal system failed to prove it was murder, and that failure drives Woo-seok to this day. He cannot stand seeing human lives turned into profit.
Early in episode 1, Woo-seok arrests a man running a scam where workers deliberately hurt themselves for claim money. But instead of feeling satisfied, he rushes to a hospital where a young girl lies covered in burns. Her mother is already planning to buy a car with the insurance settlement she got from her daughter’s injury. Woo-seok threatens legal action, showing just how deeply these cases affect him.
Episode 1-2: The First Death and a Suspicious Pattern
The story introduces Han Seol-ah as the elegant and successful head auctioneer at Royal Auction. She is good at her job, maybe too good, and her colleague Yoon-ji resents her for it. During an auction event, wealthy client Baek Jun-beom (Kim Jung-hyun) approaches Seol-ah with clear interest. When Yoon-ji tries to insert herself into their conversation, Jun-beom brushes her off coldly. This humiliation plants a seed of revenge in Yoon-ji.
Yoon-ji soon contacts Woo-seok, claiming she has information about a major insurance scam involving murder. But before Woo-seok can meet her, Yoon-ji falls from a rooftop terrace and dies. It looks like suicide, but Woo-seok has doubts.
When investigators look into Yoon-ji’s life, they find she had been tracking Han Seol-ah closely. A calendar in Yoon-ji’s home contains detailed notes about Seol-ah’s daily schedule. More concerning is the discovery about Seol-ah’s past. Her fiancé, Yoon Seung-jae, died in an accident. He had a 700 million won insurance policy naming Seol-ah as the beneficiary, but records show he canceled it right before his death.
Woo-seok confronts Seol-ah about this, but she remains calm and denies any involvement. Then another case emerges. A doctor named Choi Young-ho died from a self-injected propofol overdose. He had a 500 million won policy with HA Life Insurance. The beneficiary? Han Seol-ah. And just like the first case, he canceled the policy shortly before dying.
A nurse who dated Choi tells Woo-seok that before Choi, Seol-ah was involved with another man who died in a terrorist attack in Syria. The pattern becomes clear: every man who loves Han Seol-ah ends up dead. When Woo-seok confronts her again and asks what these men gained from loving her, Seol-ah steps closer and turns the question back on him. She asks who might be the next man to fall for her, looking directly at Woo-seok.
Episode 3-4: Getting Closer to the Truth
As the investigation continues, Woo-seok digs deeper into Seol-ah’s past. He gets access to a recording of her that makes him feel pity rather than suspicion. He starts to see her not just as a suspect but as someone carrying heavy wounds.
Meanwhile, Baek Jun-beom becomes more involved. Chairman Kim offers him conditional succession to the family business, but Jun-beom seems more focused on Seol-ah. He gets entangled with her, and his presence adds another layer of mystery. Jun-beom is not what he appears to be. His demeanor shifts depending on the situation, sometimes treating people like objects, other times showing excessive warmth.
The police decide to arrest Seol-ah at an auction event. This public humiliation pushes her to a breaking point. She resolves to end everything, whatever that might mean. But Woo-seok is not convinced of her guilt anymore. The more he learns, the more he suspects someone else is pulling the strings.
Episode 5-6: The Fake Relationship Begins
In a bold move, Woo-seok suggests that he and Seol-ah pose as lovers. His official reason is to get closer to the truth and protect her while investigating. Seol-ah agrees to the plan, though it is clear both have mixed feelings.
Jun-beom consigns a painting to Seol-ah at Royal Auction, keeping himself in her orbit. The tension between the three characters grows. Woo-seok finds himself in situations where he must act like Seol-ah’s partner, and the lines between performance and real feeling start to blur.
Episode 6 brings a shocking truth to light. Woo-seok discovers something about Seol-ah’s past that changes how he sees the entire case. While specific details of this revelation are kept for viewers to discover, it confirms that Seol-ah is not simply a cold-blooded killer. She is a woman who has locked herself inside ice, as Park Min-young described her character.
Behind the Scenes: What the Cast Says About the Drama
Director Kim Cheol-gyu, known for Flower of Evil and Celebrity, brings his signature style to Siren’s Kiss. He describes the series as one where tension never lets up, from the first episode to the last. The art auction house setting allowed the production to use more artworks than in any recent drama, and these pieces interact with the characters’ emotions throughout the story.
Park Min-young took on a very different role with Han Seol-ah. To show her character’s emotional emptiness, Park drank nearly three liters of water daily and avoided solid food during filming. She explains that Seol-ah has stopped nourishing herself emotionally and survives on water and alcohol alone. The actress also used her lowest vocal register to create a distinct voice for the character.
Wi Ha-joon read the entire script in one sitting, which he says rarely happens for him. He was drawn to how the series balances tension with warmth and human compassion. For his action scenes, he focused on showing his character’s emotional state through each movement rather than just showing off technique.
Kim Jung-hyun describes his character Baek Jun-beom’s relationship to Seol-ah in simple terms: If she is the sun, he is Icarus, flying too close and risking everything.
Fun Moments from Filming
The cast shared some lighthearted stories during their appearance on singer ZO ZAZZ’s YouTube channel on March 4. Park Min-young revealed that Wi Ha-joon once told her this drama involved only his second or third kiss scene ever. Since Park has done many romance dramas, she jokingly called him a “rookie kisser.”
But when cameras started rolling, things changed. Park recalled that Ha-joon performed the kiss with unexpected intensity. Her character was supposed to look startled, but her reaction became genuine because his sudden confidence caught her off guard. She laughed while describing it as “strong suction,” making everyone in the studio laugh.
Park also shared that Wi Ha-joon has a habit of shadowboxing everywhere on set. Even right before shooting a romantic scene, he would walk toward her throwing casual punches as part of his routine. The cast and crew have gotten used to it over time.
Fan Reactions
Viewers are responding warmly to the chemistry between the leads. On social media, fans are sharing their excitement about the kissing scene after hearing Park Min-young’s story.
“I want to see this because Min-young is a good kisser too,” one fan wrote.
Another commented, “Coming from Min-young who is also a great kisser on screen, this kissing scene will be something that one needs to look forward to.”
The “suction” comment sparked humor among fans. “She said it was like a suction😂 Now, I am looking forward to the third kiss,” someone posted.
Others noted how comfortable Park Min-young is talking about these moments. “Babe is way too professional she’s not even shy talking about it,” a fan observed.
