What Happened Before Season 2
The first season of Dorohedoro aired from January to March 2020 with 12 episodes. The story takes place in a dirty, run-down city called the Hole. Sorcerers from another world use Hole’s residents as test subjects for their magic.
Caiman is one of those victims. A sorcerer turned his head into a lizard and wiped his memory. He hunts sorcerers with his friend Nikaido, hoping to find the one who cursed him. He shoves each sorcerer’s head into his mouth, where a man inside his throat tells him if that sorcerer is the right one.
The first season ended with many questions. Nikaido was revealed to be a sorcerer herself. En learned about the lizard-man killing his people. The mystery of who cursed Caiman remained unsolved.
Dorohedoro Season 2 picks up right where the first season left off, continuing the hunt for answers.
Episode 4 Preview and Story Details
The official preview for Episode 4 has been released. The episode will focus on the Cross-Eyes gang and their plans. The preview hints at a dark plot where the Cross-Eyes try to make a landlord’s murder look like a suicide.
The preview text states:
“Those Cross-Eye bastards… they’re really planning to make that landlord’s murder look like a suicide? As for Asu, who thought he could keep secrets from me—I made sure to give him a little ‘punishment’ he won’t forget!”
Episode 4 will continue showing the growing conflict between the Hole’s residents and En’s family of sorcerers. Caiman’s search for the sorcerer who cursed him moves forward, and new clues may come to light.

About the Original Manga
The Dorohedoro manga was written and illustrated by Q Hayashida. It ran from November 2000 to September 2018. VIZ Media publishes the English version of the manga.
The manga is finished, so the anime has complete source material to adapt. Fans who want to know the full story can read all 23 volumes of the manga.
VIZ Media describes the story in the first volume:
“In a city so dismal it’s known only as ‘the Hole,’ a clan of Sorcerers have been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious ‘experiments’ in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they’re hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they’ll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of ‘cleaners’ into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.”
