The race for the original Compound V is about to reach a breaking point. Prime Video will drop the fourth episode of The Boys Season 5 on April 22, 2026, and the promo promises a dangerous trip to a mysterious location called Fort Harmony. Both the good guys and the villains are heading there with one goal: find the remaining V1 formula.
This abandoned facility holds the key to everything. Whoever controls V1 can control the future of supes. Homelander wants it to become a real god. Billy Butcher and his team want it to stop Homelander for good. The stage is set for a major showdown.
Fort Harmony Is The Origin Point Of Compound V Experiments
Fort Harmony first appeared in the third episode titled “Every One of You Sons of Bitches.” The characters discovered this location while going through classified documents about V1. MM described it as an army hospital where Frederick Vought conducted his earliest work. The U.S. government shut down the facility shortly after World War II ended.
This location is not just another Vought building. The documents revealed that Fort Harmony was the testing ground for the first version of Compound V. The experiments done there created the original supes who never age. Soldier Boy, Stormfront, Bombsight, Torpedo, and Private Angel were the only ones who survived the initial tests. V1 is ten times stronger than the Compound V used today.
The third episode ended with Frenchie mentioning that a group of people died at Fort Harmony in a very brutal way. This line has many viewers thinking that something dangerous still lives inside those old walls.
The V1 Formula Makes The Current Conflict More Dangerous
The fight over V1 started when Butcher tried to kill Soldier Boy using a supe-killing virus. Everyone believed Soldier Boy was dead after that attack. But the third episode showed he survived. The reason is V1. The original formula grants complete immunity to the virus and also stops aging completely.
This changes everything for Homelander. He now knows there is a way to become truly unstoppable. Showrunner Eric Kripke explained Homelander’s mindset in a recent interview with Nerdist. Kripke said Homelander wants V1 so he can become a god. The character already believes an angel version of Madelyn Stillwell gave him a holy mission to rule the Earth.
The situation looks bad for the heroes. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are trapped in a Freedom Camp. Annie is trying to fight back but faces too many supes. Kimiko is missing. Butcher returned ready to use the virus to kill all supes, but now even that plan might not work if Homelander gets V1 first.

The 39-second promo for episode four shows the team preparing for a dangerous search. The official The Boys social media account posted the teaser with a simple message: “Wednesday, we pack a bag for Fort Harmony.” The footage reveals the characters talking about a limited time window. Someone says the virus will work for “weeks at least.”
The dialogue also makes the mission sound very difficult. One character states, “If there’s any V1 left in there, it ain’t gonna be easy to find.” The promo then shows a field filled with dead people. The team discovers this scene during their search. Then things get worse. Butcher attacks Hughie in the trailer, showing that trust within the group is breaking apart.
The final moments of the teaser reveal Homelander and Soldier Boy closing in on the same location. Both villains want V1 for themselves. Soldier Boy already has the immunity, but he might want to keep the formula away from Homelander. The trailer ends with both sides heading toward Fort Harmony at the same time.

The Episode May Connect To Gen V Spin-Off
The deep dive into V1 and early Vought experiments creates a perfect chance to bring in characters from Gen V. The spin-off series already explored the dark side of Compound V testing on young supes. The themes match very well with what Fort Harmony represents.
Eric Kripke previously stated that Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, will enter The Boys’ world before the season ends. Episode four sits right in the middle of the final season. Many believe this is the right moment for that crossover to happen.
The third episode already included small hints about Gen V. These were not random details. The show is slowly setting up the connection so it feels natural when it happens. If Gen V characters appear at Fort Harmony, it would make perfect sense given the location’s history with early supe experiments.
