The wait is over for fans of Chloe Walsh’s bestselling book series. Prime Video has officially announced the main cast for the upcoming ‘Boys of Tommen’ television adaptation. The streaming service revealed the four lead actors who will bring the beloved characters from the ‘Binding 13’ and ‘Keeping 13’ novels to life.
Fresh Faces Lead the Irish Romance Drama
Nancy Surridge will play Shannon Lynch, described as the shy and mysterious new girl arriving at Tommen College. Conor Sánchez takes on the role of Johnny Kavanagh, the star rugby player and the school’s golden boy who finds himself drawn to Shannon.
The supporting leads include James O’Donoghue as Joey Lynch, Shannon’s older brother who is troubled but deeply loyal to his family. Sophie McGibbon joins as Aoife Molloy, a fiercely confident young woman who becomes Joey’s love interest.
Director Brendan Canty, who grew up in Cork where the story takes place, said the casting process was extensive.
“We searched far and wide, receiving over 3000 casting suggestions from across the UK and Ireland, but from the moment Nancy, Conor, James and Sophie walked into the room, it was clear we’d found something beyond special. Each of them brings the spirit and emotional depth this story demands.” – Brendan Canty, Director
What Is ‘Boys of Tommen’ About?
The series follows a forbidden love story set at the prestigious private school of Tommen College in Ballylaggin, Ireland. Johnny Kavanagh stands on the edge of a professional rugby career, while Shannon Lynch is the talented but painfully shy new student trying to survive her first days at the school.
Both teenagers keep major secrets. Johnny hides a potentially career-ending injury from everyone around him. Shannon carries the weight of a troubled and violent home life she desperately wants to escape. Their connection grows in secret, and the two teens from completely opposite worlds try to save each other against all odds.
