American Horror Story: 13 is bringing back one of its most unforgettable villains. Evan Peters is returning as Tate Langdon, the troubled ghost from the show’s very first season, Murder House. New first-look images have given fans their clearest view yet of Peters back in the role that made him a horror icon, complete with the infamous Rubber Man suit. Evan Peters Is Playing Five Characters in Season 13

Peters is not just coming back as Tate. Reports confirm he will play five different characters from the American Horror Story universe in Season 13. Alongside Tate Langdon, he will reprise his roles as James Patrick March from Hotel and Kai Anderson from Cult.

The first-look images show Peters as Tate Langdon wearing the Rubber Man suit and as Mr. March playing the piano. Kai Anderson appears in the background of an image featuring his sister, Winter Anderson, played by Billie Lourd.

Peters first played Tate in 2011 when American Horror Story: Murder House premiered. Tate was a high school student who died in the 1990s and remained a ghost in the Murder House. The character later returned in Apocalypse in 2018.

The Official Trailer Says It Is Witch-Hunting Season

FX released the official trailer for American Horror Story: 13 on September 10, 2026. The trailer opens with Jessica Lange as Elsa Mars from Freak Show saying, “Welcome to the greatest show on earth”.

Evan Peters as James March from Hotel tells someone offscreen that it is “witch-hunting season.” Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode adds, “So much terrifying and vengeful death. Something wicked this way comes”.

John Waters says in the trailer, “13 stands for instability, chaos.” Billie Lourd’s Winter Anderson responds to Peters’ Kai Anderson with, “He’s really riding that 13 thing extra hard. Isn’t he?”

Release Date and Streaming Details

American Horror Story: 13 premieres on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on FX and Hulu. The season will consist of 13 half-hour episodes.

The premiere drops with three episodes in the first week. The following week brings another three episodes. After that, two new episodes air weekly until the finale on October 29, 2026, just before Halloween.

For global audiences, the season will be available on Disney+ in international markets. Viewers in Canada, the UK, Australia, and India can stream on Disney+ where available.
