The episode begins eight years after the events of the first episode. Sitara has been living peacefully with Fatima and her family of scholars. She has learned to read and write and helps with daily chores. However, this peace does not last. The Mongol Empire, led by Genghis Khan, continues its unstoppable march and finally reaches Sitara’s city.

The Tus Militia falls to the Nomads, and homes and lives are destroyed. The family Sitara built with Fatima crumbles. One by one, the family members die, leaving Sitara alone. The most heartbreaking moment comes when Fatima, who had become a mother figure to Sitara, calls her “my daughter” before she passes away.

The episode also introduces a new character, Shira, a Persian boy who is with the Mongol army. He is fluent in Mongolian and can speak Arabic or Farsi, like Sitara. His role and why he is working with the Mongols remain a mystery.

The episode also features a notable detail: some of the Mongolian soldiers speak actual Mongolian, voiced by Mongolian sumo wrestlers. The production staff cast Tamawashi and Tamashoho, who are sumo wrestlers, to voice Genghis Khan and a powerful Mongol soldier.
