Apple TV+ is launching a new music competition show called KPOPPED on August 29, 2025. The series brings together famous Western artists and top K-pop groups to remake hit songs in a fresh K-pop style. The show will have eight episodes, all releasing at once.
Megan Thee Stallion and PSY are the main stars of the show. Megan is also one of the executive producers, along with Lionel Richie and Miky Lee. The host is comedian Soojeong Son, known for her roles in Servant and Search Party.
What Is “KPOPPED” About?
Each episode features Western singers teaming up with K-pop groups to create new versions of their biggest songs. They have limited time to prepare before performing live in Seoul, South Korea. The audience votes for the best performance, and the winning team gets bragging rights. After the results, the K-pop groups perform one of their own songs to close the episode.
The show mixes different music styles, from hip-hop to pop, with K-pop’s high-energy performances. Some artists, like J Balvin, joked about the challenge of learning K-pop dance moves quickly.
“I’m not a good dancer, bro, so please take it easy with me, man,” J Balvin said in the trailer.

Why This Show Is Different
Most music competition shows focus on new singers, but KPOPPED is about famous artists working with K-pop stars to create something new. The show highlights how K-pop’s style—like sharp choreography and bold visuals—can change well-known songs.
Megan Thee Stallion has been a fan of K-pop for years, so this project is special for her. PSY, who became a global star with “Gangnam Style”, helps bridge Western and Korean music cultures.
