Goo Hye Sun posted on Instagram about her visit to Professor Lee Hae Shin’s lab at KAIST. “I visited Professor Lee Hae Shin’s lab, the pride of KAIST,” she wrote.
She further shared, “I am deeply engaged in brainstorming an exciting project with Professor Lee Hae Shin. While the shampoo he developed is currently ranked No. 1, we are working on something special together! Please look forward to it with excitement!” She also included a screenshot showing Professor Lee’s shampoo topping Olive Young’s best-selling rankings.
Professor Lee Hae Shin, from KAIST’s Department of Chemistry, and his team founded Polyphenol Factory, a startup born from faculty entrepreneurship. Their research on hair loss reduction gained recognition after being published in an SCI-indexed scientific journal.
From Ulzzang to KAIST
Goo Hye Sun’s journey began as an internet Ulzzang (internet beauty) before she entered the entertainment industry in 2002 with a Sambo Computer Slim PC commercial.
Her acting career includes roles in dramas like ‘Nonstop 5,’ ‘The Ballad of Seodong,’ ‘The King and I,’ ‘Boys Over Flowers,’ and ‘Blood.’ She also works as a singer, film director, and painter.
Her academic record is strong. In 2011, she enrolled in Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Visual Arts and graduated as the valedictorian in February of the previous year.
Recently, she gained attention for her acceptance into KAIST’s master’s program in Science Journalism. She currently serves as the department’s vice president, managing her academic and artistic activities.
