Akanksha Chamola recently opened up about her time on the reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. She spoke with co-host Farah Khan on her YouTube channel. During the conversation, she admitted that her estranged husband, Gaurav Khanna, entering the show as a visitor deeply affected her gameplay. She said the news he brought from outside left her shattered and made her rethink everything.
Gaurav Khanna Brought News That Changed Everything for Akanksha
Akanksha revealed that Gaurav shared some information about her family during his visit. This news was unexpected and troubling for her. She explained that when she entered the Lock Upp house, she believed everything was fine at home. She felt confident because her family supported her and understood what she was doing on the show.
“What had happened was there was some information which was passed on to me when he [Gaurav] entered. When I came to Lock Upp, I came with the mindset that okay everything is okay at home.”
However, Gaurav’s visit changed that. He told her that things were not right back home. This news broke her focus. She said it shattered her because her family is her biggest support system. She added, “It wasn’t right, what I got to know”.
Akanksha further shared that her confidence comes from knowing her family has her back. They know what she is doing and have accepted her decisions. So, when Gaurav told her something was wrong at home, she could not stop thinking about it. She kept wondering what had happened.
Gaurav’s Surprise Entry Left Akanksha Emotional
Gaurav Khanna made a surprise entry into the Lock Upp 2 house during visiting hours. His appearance stunned all the contestants. Akanksha broke down in tears when she saw him. In the promo, Gaurav greeted her with the words, “Band baja diya tune (You have messed it up)”.
During their private conversation in the jailer’s cabin, Gaurav spoke about how their relationship was being discussed outside. He told Akanksha that he did not like people saying bad things about her because legally, she was still his wife. He also revealed that they had only discussed the possibility of divorce in May. He expressed disappointment that she spoke about it publicly before any paperwork was signed.
Akanksha responded by clarifying that no legal papers had been filed because Gaurav was away shooting for Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15. She also said that if people cannot accept that two people can separate amicably and as friends, that is their problem.
Akanksha’s Journey on Lock Upp Was Full of Personal Revelations
Akanksha Chamola’s time on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa was marked by several personal disclosures. On the premiere episode itself, she confirmed that she and Gaurav Khanna were heading for a divorce. She shared that they had been living separately for about a year. The couple got married in November 2016 after dating for some time.
Later, she also opened up about her sxual orientation. She revealed that she is bisxual and had been in relationships with women before her marriage. She also spoke about why she and Gaurav decided to separate. She said Gaurav wants children, but she does not. She admitted that she has never had a maternal instinct and wants to remain child-free.

During the YouTube chat, Farah Khan told Akanksha that she deserved love for being so open on the show. Farah also mentioned that she had a feeling things could go wrong after Gaurav entered the house. Akanksha was eliminated in the semi-finale. Shreya Kalra went on to win the show.
After the show ended, Akanksha faced questions about whether she used her divorce for publicity. She denied these claims. She said her separation was not a publicity stunt and that the process was already underway before she joined Lock Upp. She also made it clear that she does not want to talk about Gaurav Khanna or Lock Upp anymore.
