London handed out the biggest trophies in British television on May 10, 2026, as the BAFTA TV Awards celebrated the best shows and performances of the past year. The ceremony took place at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall with comedian Greg Davies hosting the event, which aired on BBC One.
Netflix drama Adolescence walked away as the top winner of the night, collecting four awards. The limited series about a family dealing with a teenage son accused of a serious crime won in all its nominated acting categories.
‘Adolescence’ Stars Sweep Acting Categories
Stephen Graham won the Leading Actor award for his role in Adolescence. He competed against Colin Firth (Lockerbie: A Search for Truth), Matt Smith (The Death of Bunny Munro), and Taron Egerton (Smoke). The win marked Graham’s first BAFTA TV Award, adding to his Golden Globe and Emmy wins for the same role.
In the Leading Actress category, Narges Rashidi took home the prize for Prisoner 951 on BBC One. She defeated Jodie Whittaker (Toxic Town), Sheridan Smith (I Fought The Law), and Siân Brooke (Blue Lights).
Owen Cooper won his first BAFTA for Supporting Actor for his performance in Adolescence. The young actor was up against his co-star Ashley Walters along with Paddy Considine (MobLand).
Christine Tremarco picked up the Supporting Actress award for her work in Adolescence. This was also her first BAFTA win.
Drama and Comedy Category Winners
Code Of Silence on ITV1 won the Drama Series category. The show beat out A Thousand Blows (Disney+), Blue Lights (BBC One), and This City Is Ours (BBC One).
Adolescence won Limited Drama, topping the list against I Fought The Law, Trespasses, and What It Feels Like For A Girl.
In scripted comedy, Amandaland on BBC One won the top prize. The show produced by Dolly Wells and written by Sharon Horgan also earned nominations for its cast members Jennifer Saunders, Lucy Punch, and Philippa Dunne in the Best Actress in a Comedy category.
Steve Coogan won Best Actor in a Comedy for How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge). He played the famous character Alan Partridge in the BBC One series.
Katherine Parkinson won Best Actress in a Comedy for her role in Here We Go on BBC One. She beat out Diane Morgan (Mandy) and Jennifer Saunders (Amandaland).
Entertainment, Reality, and Factual Winners
Last One Laughing on Prime Video won the Entertainment award. The show also gave Bob Mortimer the Entertainment Performance prize.
The Celebrity Traitors on BBC One won the Reality category. The show also won the P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award, which British viewers voted for online. The winning moment showed Alan Carr winning the show.

EastEnders won the Soap award for the second year in a row. The BBC One show beat Coronation Street on ITVX and Casualty on BBC One.
Scam Interceptors on BBC One won the Daytime award. The show about catching online fraudsters defeated The Chase and Richard Osman’s House of Games.
The Studio on Apple TV won the International award. The show competed against The Bear (Disney+), Severance (Apple TV), and The White Lotus (Sky Atlantic).
News, Documentaries, and Sports Coverage Winners
Channel 4 News: Israel-Iran: The Twelve Day War won News Coverage. Gaza: Doctors Under Attack on Channel 4 won the Current Affairs award.
Grenfell: Uncovered on Netflix won Single Documentary. Simon Schama: The Road To Auschwitz on BBC Two won Specialist Factual.
UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 on BBC One won Sports Coverage. The tournament coverage beat Wimbledon 2025 and The FA Cup Final.
VE Day 80: A Celebration To Remember on BBC One won Live Event Coverage.
Special Honors of the Night
Dame Mary Berry received the BAFTA Fellowship, the highest award given by the academy. The former Great British Bake Off judge has worked in television for six decades. Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins presented her with the award.
Martin Lewis received the Television Special Award. The money saving expert and broadcaster was recognized by BAFTA for his work helping British viewers with financial advice.
