The Thai horror series Zomvivor: Campus of Madness arrived on Netflix on October 31, 2025, throwing viewers into a university overrun by the undead. The first season introduced a large group of students and staff fighting for their lives while hiding dark secrets. As fans binge the series, the cliffhanger ending leaves many burning questions that only a second season can address.

The Mystery of the Anisong Virus

The central plot point of the season is the Anisong virus, the cause of the zombie outbreak. The project was financed by the influential Phumtham Kiatpipat, but the exact purpose of the virus remains unclear. Professor Wiroj Limmanapong was a key figure in its creation, and the show reveals that Kanchana, the mother of main characters Ning and Non, injected herself with the virus and is now in a coma. A second season would need to explore what the virus was originally meant to achieve and why Kanchana chose to test it on herself.

The Fate of the Comatose Scientist

The condition of Dr. Kanchana is a significant mystery. As a former scientist who worked on the virus and is now comatose, she may hold the key to a cure or critical information about the outbreak’s origins. Her children, Ning and Non, are central characters, and their motivation to save her helped drive the story. Season 2 would need to reveal if she will ever wake up and what knowledge she possesses about the virus.

The True Goal of Professor Wiroj

Professor Wiroj Limmanapong is presented as a key creator of the zombie virus. His motivations, however, are not fully explained. Was the virus created as a weapon, or did he have a different scientific goal in mind? Understanding his true intentions and his relationship with the financier Phumtham is crucial to understanding the entire outbreak.

The Patron’s Endgame

The powerful figure Phumtham Kiatpipat, also known as “The Patron,” is the money behind the Anisong project. His goals are still hidden. As the father of a character named Joe, his reasons for funding a dangerous virus are a major unanswered question. A new season would need to show his long-term plan and how he intends to use the chaos he helped create.

The Separated Groups and Their Survival

When the outbreak began, the large cast of survivors got separated into different groups. Students like Night and Kawin ended up with the cheerleading team, away from the main groups from the Faculty of Science and Communication Arts. The fate of these split groups is left uncertain. Season 2 would have to show if they can find each other and how their survival strategies differ in various parts of the overrun campus.

The Orphans’ Connection to the Foundation

Two characters, Jean and Pao, are orphans who grew up at Phumtham’s foundation. This shared background is highlighted but not fully explored. Their history with the foundation and its patron, Phumtham, might be more than a simple coincidence. A future season could explore if their past gives them unique insight or a personal stake in the conflict.

The Young Brother’s Zombie Knowledge

A character named Thi, a second-year Communication Arts student, is described as being “obsessed with zombies.” In a real zombie apocalypse, such a character’s hobby could become a vital survival skill. The first season did not fully use this aspect of his character. Season 2 could show how his unusual obsession gives his group a practical advantage against the undead.

The Search for a Cure

With a virus causing the outbreak, the logical end goal for the survivors is to find a cure. Characters like Ning, a science student who initially helped Professor Wiroj, have the knowledge to potentially work on an antidote. A continuation of the story would likely follow the characters’ attempts to use the available research, including that of the comatose Dr. Kanchana, to find a way to reverse the infection.

Alliances and Trust Among Survivors

The series premise states that “no one can be trusted.” The first season showed various student groups and the PE team, led by Aek, trying to survive. With tensions high and resources low, a second season could explore how these alliances hold up. It would question whether the groups will work together for a common goal or break apart due to suspicion and conflicting interests.

The Fate of the Injured Science Student

A science student named Nan injured her ankle just as the outbreak began, putting her at an immediate disadvantage. Her injury raises questions about the survival of vulnerable individuals in a zombie apocalypse. Her story in a new season could show the challenges faced by those who are not physically able to fight or run.

The Cliffhanger Ending and Immediate Aftermath

Season one ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the immediate fate of the characters unknown. The final episodes set up several conflicts that were not resolved. A second season is necessary to continue the story directly from this point, showing how the characters escape their most recent threats and what their next steps are in a campus that is now fully overrun.

The show’s official trailer announced that the story would explore a population where “no one can be trusted,” and what happens when the enemy isn’t just the zombies.

The large ensemble cast includes Janistar Phomphadungcheep as Ning, Sittichok Pueakpoolpol as Jean, Chawarin Perdpiriyawong as Non, and Pruk Panich as San, among many others. With so many characters and unresolved plots, fans are hoping for a renewal announcement to get answers to these pressing questions.
