The upcoming JTBC drama Surely Tomorrow pairs Park Seo Joon and Won Ji An as former lovers whose paths keep crossing at different stages of their lives. The series will follow the intricate and emotional story of Lee Gyeong Do and Seo Ji Woo, who first fell in love at 20, rekindled their relationship at 28, and years later find themselves unexpectedly reunited under complicated circumstances. The show is set to premiere on December 6, 2025.

The Story of Lee Gyeong Do and Seo Ji Woo

“Surely Tomorrow” tells the lengthy romantic history between Lee Gyeong Do (Park Seo Joon) and Seo Ji Woo (Won Ji An). Their story begins in their youth, within a theater group club, where they experience the innocence of first love at 20 years old. They eventually break up, only to find each other again at 28 and decide to give their relationship a second chance. This attempt also ends in a breakup, leading them to go their separate ways.

Years later, fate intervenes to bring them together for a third time. Gyeong Do is now working as a reporter in the entertainment department of the Dongwoon Daily News. Ji Woo, meanwhile, is the wife of a man at the center of a sensational affair scandalโ€”the very scandal that Gyeong Do is assigned to cover. This professional collision forces them to confront their shared past and unresolved emotions.

The production team shared that the actors will portray a very realistic romance, navigating between extreme emotions. They promised a heart-wrenching love story that is difficult to escape once you become invested.

A Look at Their Changing Relationship

Newly released stills from the drama highlight the different phases of the couple’s relationship. One image captures the pure joy and innocence of their first love, with both characters sharing bright, happy smiles. This reflects the time when they were everything to each other.

A second set of images shows their relationship in their late twenties, where their bond appears to have deepened. They are seen helping to heal each other’s wounds, suggesting a more mature connection during their second attempt at romance.

The final stills reveal a much colder atmosphere, depicting their third encounter after their second breakup. The expressions are more restrained and complex, hinting at the awkwardness and mixed feelings that come with their unexpected reunion. Gyeong Do is seen staring at Ji Woo with a hardened expression, while she maintains a more childlike gaze, indicating their differing emotional states.

Behind the Scenes and Cast Chemistry

The drama is directed by Lim Hyun-ook, known for his work on “King the Land” and “Reflection of You.” The script is written by Yu Young-ah, the writer behind popular series like “Thirty-Nine” and “Divorce Attorney Shin.”

A trailer showing behind-the-scenes moments from the filming set has been released, revealing a warm and lively atmosphere. The cast, including Lee El, Lee Joo-young, Kang Ki-doong, and Cho Min-guk, were seen passionately discussing scripts and sharing bright smiles during breaks.

The chemistry between the two lead actors stands out. Park Seo Joon and Won Ji An are shown fully immersed in their characters during scenes such as riding a carousel together and dancing a waltz in the middle of a street. The production team expressed strong confidence in their teamwork, stating that their on-screen dynamic feels as authentic as seeing a real first love.

When and Where to Watch
