Apple TV has confirmed the return of its dark comedy drama Your Friends and Neighbors, starring Jon Hamm. The streaming service announced the Season 2 premiere date and released the first official photos, introducing a major new cast member. The show will come back for a ten-episode run in the spring of 2026.
The new season continues the story of Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a former hedge fund manager who turned to robbing his wealthy neighbors after losing his job and his marriage. After a first season that ended with Coop narrowly avoiding prison, the upcoming episodes will see his secret life threatened by a mysterious new arrival in the wealthy Westmont Village.
Season 2 Premiere Date And Release Schedule
Mark your calendars. Your Friends and Neighbors Season 2 will premiere globally on Apple TV on Friday, April 3, 2026.
The season will consist of ten episodes. Following the debut, new episodes will be released weekly every Friday. The season finale is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2026, completing the story arc.
What Happens In Season 2? The New Threat To Coop’s Family
The official description for the new season sets the stage for higher stakes. It states that Andrew Cooper “doubles down on his life as an unlikely suburban thief, until the arrival of a new neighbor threatens to expose his secrets and place his family at risk”.
This logline confirms that Coop, played by Jon Hamm, will continue his life of crime despite the close calls of the first season. The central conflict will revolve around this new neighbor, whose presence becomes a direct danger to Coop’s carefully constructed double life and the safety of his family.
James Marsden Joins The Cast As The New Neighbor
The major new addition to the cast is James Marsden. While Apple TV has not revealed the name of his character, multiple reports indicate he will play the pivotal “new neighbor” who threatens Coop’s world. In the released first-look photos, Marsden appears in a sophisticated setting, wearing a smoking jacket.
Marsden joins an extensive returning cast. This includes Amanda Peet as Coop’s ex-wife Mel, Olivia Munn as his complicated friend Samantha Levitt, and Hoon Lee as his friend and business manager Barney Choi. Also returning are Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Gravitt, and Donovan Colan. New recurring cast members for the season include Arienne Mandi, Erin Robinson, and Bre Blair.
Looking Back At Season 1: How Coop Became A Suburban Thief
For those who missed the first season, the show follows Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a wealthy hedge fund manager living in an affluent suburb. After being fired from his job, he finds himself financially strained but desperate to maintain his family’s luxurious lifestyle and cover expenses like alimony and private school tuition.
His solution is unconventional: he begins stealing valuable items from the homes of his wealthy friends and neighbors. What starts as a desperate act evolves into a secret criminal life, with Coop partnering with his friend’s housekeeper, Elena, to pull off more sophisticated heists. The first season wove together this crime story with the complex personal dramas of divorce, friendship, and betrayal within this privileged community.
The season one finale left Coop at a crossroads. He was exonerated for a murder and was even offered his old job back. In a twist that defines his character, he turned the job down, choosing to continue his life of burglary instead. This decision directly sets the stage for his story in Season 2.
